Update instance status

Hello Everyone,

I have a strange problem that shouldn’t even exist.

I have several instances that are created on the cloud (for instance: VMware), but they are in a failed status because some workflows in the provision state have failed due to networking reasons.

For some reason, the colleagues who performed this installation executed the content of the scripts inside the said workflow manually, directly onto the created VM. Thus, the VM is well installed now.

Is there a simple way to change the instance status from “Failed” to “Running”?

I think rebooting it via Morpheus works, but these VMs are in production, and I want to avoid rebooting them.

regards,
Matthieu

Yes you can!

  1. Navigate to the server level (Within the Instance > Resources > Click VM).
  2. Edit the VM, go to Advanced Options and change the Status to Provisioned
  3. You may have to then go to Actions > Start VM (yes it’s already on) to refresh the status. This may have to be performed at either the VM or the Instance level.

Remember that after the status changes, the default monitoring in Morpheus may take a moment to get back to a green status due to the default polling periods.
