Hi experts,
I’m encountering an issue with catalog configuration where certain resources are not displaying correctly. Here’s the situation:
In a VMware environment, I have Resource Pool A with Datastores A1, A2, and A3, and Resource Pool B with Datastores B1, B2, and B3. In the provisioning wizard, when I choose Resource Pool A, it correctly displays a list of Datastores A1-3. Similarly, selecting Resource Pool B shows Datastores B1-3.
The issue arises when I create an Instance catalog type configured to use Resource Pool A in the configure wizard with a form variable. After completing the configuration, if I select Resource Pool A, it shows its corresponding datastores as expected. However, when I switch to Resource Pool B, it still shows Datastores A1-3 instead of B1-3. Why does it not dynamically update the datastores as the provisioning wizard does?
Additionally, I set the Network not to use DHCP, which correctly displays an IP box for manual entry in the Provisioning wizard. However, in the catalog it shows “default” instead, what is default in this scenario?
Thank you!
Hello @Cuong_Duong,
First, I’d recommend being on a later version of Morpheus, if you are not. I know early on in Forms, there were some UI issues with items updating, just want to make sure you are not running into that.
I’m on 7.0.3 and I see my Datastore list updating. Be sure on the Disks input on your Form, that you have Pool configured to use the Resource Pool field you have on your Form. This will ensure that the Disks input will know what to use to filter properly. If you don’t have that configured, you may see them all (or no select list at all).

For example in my environment, here is the Disk updating dynamically in my Form:
If you continue to have issue, you may want to open a Technical Request to have a Morpheus Engineer to assist. Please work with your account manager if you have questions on the process.
Hope that helps!

Hi @kgawronski
It’s great to hear your reply and I’m now able to select datastores correctly following your guide! However, I’m encountering an another issue with the IP Instance (for example: I type a static IP for Instance Catalog but it doesn’t assign the correct IP Address for that instance). My original network in VMware uses DHCP, so I disabled “DHCP Server” and enabled both “ENABLE IP MODE SELECTION” in the form and “ALLOW IP OVERRIDE” in network settings but it does not work. I don’t want to use only Text Type Input for entering static IP because when public catalogs I want end-users can see a list of available networks so I have to select Network Type Input for them.
Could you please guide how to address this? Any help would be appreciated
Thank you!

Hello @Cuong_Duong,
I just saw your reply to this thread from previous. I’m glad you were able to get the datastores working!
I tested in my environment, and I was able to set a static IP using the Allow IP Override on the form for the network. Here are some examples to guide you:
On the Network itself:
On the Network field on the Form:

Provisioning:
In the OS:
If you are still having difficulties, you may want to create a Technical Request (TR) for a Morpheus Technical Advisory (MTA) session, which we can help you directly. I’d recommend you contact your account manager if you have questions around the TR process.
Hope that helps!
